Be-Free in cooperation with Hope Institute conducted a workshop for teens with mild mental disability. This workshop is part of "I am Smart Strong, and Safe... Despite my Disability" program which is concerned about the protection of children and teens with disability from abuse.
The workshop concentrated on one of the essential protection skills, and it is to differentiate between "Good Touch and Bad Touch", which aims at helping participating teens to differentiate between the two touches, and how to deal with the bad touch, which in turn helps in protecting them from abuse.
The essential protection skills workshops for children and teens with disability concentrate on the main protection skills that suit each type of disability, developing positive thinking, increasing their self-esteem and their confidence in their ability to give to the community.Be-Free is conducting a specialized training - train the trainer on the essential protection skills for children and teens with disability from abuse, on 7th -8th March 2011. The training covers 4 types of disabilities: motor disability, visual impairment, speech impairment, and mild mental disability.
