Interactive workshop for parents about "Positive communication between parents and children”

14 December 2011

Be-Free has recently conducted an interactive workshop for parents of Balqees Girls Primary School students, about "Positive communication between parents and children". Large number of parents attended the workshop, and participated with their experiences and challenges of communication with their children.

The workshop discussed these experiences, and challenges, and covered different ways of converting daily life events and incidents into communication opportunities, that can be used in strengthening the relationship with children.

This workshop is among many different workshops that Be-Free provides through its parents and caregivers support program for the past 10 years, and the workshop "effective communication between parents and children" was one of the important workshops that yielded positive impact in the area of protecting children from abuse or falling into abusive relationships. With the availability of many new social communication networks that open channels for children and teens to communicate with others without limits, children and teens need to have a strong bond with their parents than any other time, to get support on different daily life issues that they face, instead of turning for their friends or others for support.
