Thinking before deciding, and being proactive In the third week of the summer program

20 July 2011

The third week of Be-Free Summer Program covered two concepts. The first concept is thinking before deciding which was discussed in the workshop titled "I Think then Decide". The children learned the meaning of decision, and how decisions change our lives, and some important skills on making decisions.

Training children on these skills helps them to be more aware about the effects of decisions they make on their lives and their relationships with others, and more capable of making decision that can have a positive impact in their lives.

The second concept was about noticing the areas that can be improved, and being proactive to do the necessary change. This includes things at home, school, or any other place. This concept was covered in the workshop titled "I am a Proactive Child", where children discussed areas that can be improved around them, and through activities and exercises, learned how to be proactive, and participate in changing things to the better. This concept increases children self-esteem, and their confidence in their ability to change things to the better.
