Bahrain Women Association board member, and President of Be-Free Program Dr. Soroor Qarooni, was awarded the CSR-Leadership Award to honor the work of the Association in this field.
The awarding ceremony was held in Mumbai, India, and Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of Corporate Affairs in Government of India handed the awards to the winners, and stressed the importance of social responsibility and how it influences the economics of countries.
The ceremony included parallel panels that discussed Social Responsibility from different aspects, such as practical implementation ways, challenges, success stories, and how it affects corporations.
Dr. Soroor Qarooni discussed in one of the panels the role that corporations can play in developing societies, and spreading the culture of social responsibility in the countries in which it works. At the end of the ceremony 18th February was declared a World Day for Corporate Social Responsibility.
