“Be-Free” Participates in “Best Practices” Conference for the Winners of H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for the Arab Youth

 Be-Free attended the award ceremony of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award, that Be-Free was honored in 2012 for  providing programs that advances youth in different areas. 

Be-Free has also participated in the conference “Best Practices” for the Winners of H.H Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Award for the Arab Youth, that was organized by Family Development Foundation, and King Hussain Foundation, during the period 5-6 January in Abu Dhabi in United Arab Emirates, with the presence of H.M. Queen Noor Al-Hussein, the chairperson of the board of trustees of King Hussein Foundation.

 

During the conference the young winners presented their talents, creative work, and how they faced challenges. The winners from the institutes category presented their best practices in supporting youth. Be-Free presented its main projects targeting youth, such as “Me and the Other” that encourages a culture of having universal human values as a foundation and base of dealing with the other, and Instilling the concept of learning and growing by differences. Another project for children and teens is “I am Smart Strong and Safe... despite my disability” which helps them in building their character, having a positive perception about themselves, and empowering them with skills that helps in protecting them from abuse.

Moreover Be-Free presented “Smart +” project that aims at protecting children and teens from the dangers of the internet and new technologies. “Color Your Life with Your Choices” is a project for students ages 10 to 16 years old, that advances their academic and social development, and finally “Yes ... I Can” project  that helps teens to take initiatives to invite sustainable change in their personal life and community.

At the end of the conference, a meeting was conducted with young winners and the institutes supporting youth, to discuss the needs of Arab Youth.
