Be-Free Celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities By conducting "I'm Smart, Strong, and Safe Child" training workshop for children of Azhar Alherak Kindergarten

azhar alherak Be-Free program of the Bahrain Women's Association for Human Development conducted a training workshop for the children of “Al Azhar Alherak” Kindergarten on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disability. The workshop titled "I am a Strong, Smart and Safe Child" in which children were trained on some skills and concepts that contributes in protecting them from abuse, and raises their self-esteem.

Children enjoyed and interacted with the workshop. They also used clay to reflect their understanding of the learned concepts. At the end of the workshop Salem's story and smart colors were distributed to all children.

This workshop is part of the "Be free" program, which pays special attention to children with disabilities in its project "The Human with Disability"; a project that focuses on the protection of children and adolescents with disability by training them on protection skills. The project also contributes to changing the negative perception some disabled people have on themselves and on how others view them. It enhances their faith and ability to exercise their human role, through holding training workshops for parents and specialists.
