Under the patronage of Minister of Labour and social development, Mr. Jameel Humaidan, Bahrain Society of sociologists with partnership with Gulf Society of Sociologists organized a specialized workshop "Protecting Children from abuse in the GCC" during 28th and 29th November.
Be-Free Program of Bahrain Women Association – for Human Development, participated in the workshop by presenting the part related to protection of children and adolescents from the dangers of social media.
It discussed the impact of new smart devices on children, adolescents, and the family as a whole. As well as the alerting signs, and the practical ways to protect children and adolescents from these dangers. Moreover, Be-Free covered some of the concepts that changed with social media, such as friendship, privacy, and success, and its effects of the thinking patterns of children and the way they make their future choices.
Professionals, researchers, and social workers from different Gulf States attended the workshop, from both the civil and governmental sectors.
