Bahrain Women Association participates in Bahrain Schools and Childcare Expo

January 2019

Bahrain Women Association for Human Development participated in Bahrain Schools and Childcare Expo by two of its programs, “Be Free” and “Environmental Citizenship”, during the period from Thursday to Saturday, 17-19 Jan 2019.

A new story for children was launched by “Be Free” program titled “In my heart, Beauty lives”, that highlights some important concepts. Such as, human's value is not related with what they have or possess but with what they give. As well as, what they possess makes them responsible of giving something useful and beautiful to other people. The story was presented in an interactive way to the children who visited the expo.

“Salem and the smart crayons” is another interesting story presented by the program, which trains children on some basic self-protection skills from abuse. Children enjoyed the different activities and the various characters in the story.

On the other hand, “Environmental Citizenship” program contained different environmental activities titled “Green Steps”. The activities aimed to strengthen and consolidate the relationship between nature and children through simple steps of how to grow a small plant which everybody can do in our daily life.

Other interactive activities were related to the importance of taking care of Seeds and that they belong to nature, so they should be returned to it eventually. Moreover, the “Green Kit” was introduced by the program, that contains all the necessary equipment needed to grow a plant. The point of selling the “Green Kit” was to encourage people to put in mind that it can be given to others as a gift.
