Use your innocence
- The abuser can use the betrayed innocence of a child to perform the abuse.
- Abusers can often scare children by threatening to retaliate or by insinuating that the child will not be believed if he or she tries to tell someone of what has happened.
- The abuser may also confuse the child by behaving as if the abuse is "normal" or by implying that the abuse is the child's fault or it is done because the child is bad or worthless.
- DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. IT IS NEVER YOUR FAULT.
