Completion of the first course for Bahrain Polytechnic Students

Be-Free Launches a Code of Ethics for the protection of children

Be-Free has launched the English version of the Code of Ethics on the Protection of Children from Abuse. This Code of Ethics is a result of the work of a group of professionals and specialists from different sectors and from different parts of the world. Each member of this group contributed with his/her knowledge and experience to put together a Code of Ethics

New Radio Programs…for The Year 2011

Be-Free is starting a new series of weekly radio programs on Bahrain Radio every Wednesday. The episodes of the month of January 2011 will cover the following topics: the effect of different words on children, developing dialogue and interactive listening and how to utilize it in building strong relationship between parents and their children.

Be-Free has a weekly radio episode that started since 2002, and it covers different issues and topics related to child and teen protection from abuse, building children's personality and character, and developing the relationship between parents and their children.

Be-Free Conducts a Workshop with Hope Institute

Be-Free in cooperation with Hope Institute conducted a workshop for teens with mild mental disability. This workshop is part of "I am Smart Strong, and Safe... Despite my Disability" program which is concerned about the protection of children and teens with disability from abuse.

Be-Free in the Special Needs Support Exhibition

Be-Free Participated in the Special Needs Support Exhibition, that was organized by the Gulf Disability Society during the period 2-3 February. Be-Free participated in the exhibition through the program: "I am Strong Smart and Safe ... Despite my Disability " which is concerned about the protection of children and teens from abuse.

These workshops are part of the leadership program "Yes...I Can" that is conducted in Partnership with Women's Learning Partnership (WLP). Be-Free put its remarks on Bahrain Child Bill

Be-Free Sent its remarks on the Child Bill that has been discussed in Shura Council in Bahrain by the child and woman committee. Be-Free hopes that the Child Law in its final form will cover the main areas that ensure the protection of children from abuse, and adhere to all the articles in the child rights convention that Bahrain has endorsed.

 Be-Free launched its new website www.befreepro.org that contains many studies and information that Be-Free publishes, around the protection of children from abuse and neglect, and building their character. The site displays Be-Free programs, activities, and photos.

Be-Free Study about Bullying

Be-Free has completed a study about children's and teen's view about Bullying. The study covered questions such as: why bullying happens, by whom, where, types of bullying, what need to be done to prevent it, and what ways they think are more effective in facing bullying.

Invitation to parents and caregivers to children with disability to share their experiences or success stories

8 June 2011

Be-Free is working on a booklet for parents and caregivers of children with disability. Be-Free invites parents and caregivers to participate with their experiences and success stories with other caregivers, by e-mailing it to Be-Free, to be included in the booklet, and some will be put on the website too.
