In collaboration with the Be-Free Program of Bahrain Women Association – for Human Development, Riffa Social Center organized an interactive lecture titled “Parents’ Role in Protecting Their Children From Abuse”, presented on 2nd Feb 2021 by Mrs. Esmat Hammad, a certified trainer at Be Free Program.
Mrs.Esmat Hammad started the lecture with a question, ”What do parents expect from their children?”, and explained how the answer to that question influenced the parents’ behavior towards their children. This further affected their relationship and their susceptibility to abuse.
Mrs.Esmat Hammad discussed the different types of abuse and its relation to sexual abuse that parents strive to protect their children against.
In conclusion, Mrs. Esmat Hammad noted that a wise and loving relationship with children would protect them and help them achieve true happiness, as well as bring out the beauty that God has placed in children,
